Dracaena trifasciata
Light: Partial Sun
Water: Once Every 2 - 4 Weeks
Soil Preference: Sandy
Nickname(s): Mother-in-law Tongue
Geographical Origin
The Snake Plant was botanically classified as Sansevieria trifasciata until 2017 when its commonalities with the Dracaena species required it to be reclassified. It is native to tropical West Africa from Nigeria east to the Congo
Propagation
You can propagate this one in a couple of different ways:
1. Take the whole plant out of the pot, brush away the soil, and separate it into sections using a sharp knife. Replant the sections into clean pots with cactus potting soil. Water and find all the sections homes!
2. Using clean scissors, cut a long healthy leaf off your plant. Place the leaf in water, submerging the cut end, and put it in a partially sunny spot. Once the roots are several inches long, pot it using cactus soil.
